The dates of 2017 Staff Pre-Camp are Saturday June 24th, Sunday June 25th, Wednesday June 28th and Thursday June 29th. Please reserve these dates on your calendar, as attendance is a condition of your employment. Swim Staff ONLY also must attend pre-camp in the afternoon of Friday, June 23rd from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and Specialty Camp (MyCAMP) Creative Specialists ONLY also must attend pre-camp in the afternoon of Friday, June 23rd from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
June 24 – approximately 9:30 a.m.* – 4:45 p.m.
June 25 – approximately 9:30 a.m.* – 4:45 p.m.
June 28 – approximately 12:00 p.m.* – 7:00 p.m. (Amazing Race Staff Rec which is optional, but encouraged, goes until 10:00 p.m.)
June 29 – approximately 9:30 a.m.* – 4:45 p.m.
* Note: This is the arrival time at camp. Refer to the Pre-Camp Bus Schedule for morning bus departure times.
Pre-Camp will give you the opportunity to visit the campsite, meet other camp staff, review your camp responsibilities and share your camp program ideas for the summer season along with having fun, lots of fun!
The first day of camp this year is Monday, July 3rd!
BUS TRANSPORTATION FOR PRE-CAMP
For the pre-camp days staff may meet at camp on their own at 9:15 a.m., or meet a camp bus at any of the pre-camp bus locations at the times indicated in the Pre-Camp Bus Schedule. (Download in PDF format) Please note that for Wednesday June 28th ONLY staff traveling to pre-camp on their own must arrive by 11:45 a.m. and staff traveling on a bus, must meet their pre-camp bus 2.5 hours later than the times indicated in the Pre-Camp Bus Schedule.
The bus schedule applies ONLY for pre-camp. Bus routes for the duration of the camp season will be explained during pre-camp. Arrangements will be such that all staff will enjoy as convenient a transportation routine as possible.
Swim Staff and Specialty Camps (MyCAMP) Creative Specialists are required to make their own arrangements to get to pre-camp on Friday, June 23rd.
WHAT TO BRING TO PRE-CAMP
You must bring a pen and a binder with paper or a notebook to take notes. Also, bring a peanut/nut free lunch, water bottle, bathing suit, a towel and sunscreen. In case of bad weather, raincoats and rain boots are a must. Our Lunch Shack will be open during pre-camp and staff will be able to purchase sandwiches, snacks and drinks for a small fee. Please note that the Green Acres Dress Code is in effect during pre-camp (see Staff Survival Guide).
Departure during pre-camp will be at approximately 4:45 p.m. on June 24th, 25th and 29th. On June 28th, be prepared to stay until 7:00 p.m. for the Parent Meet & Greet, after which there will be an optional “amazing” staff event (Bus Transportation is available after the staff rec – more information to follow).

Green Acres is located 1 km north of Elgin Mills Road on the east side of Kennedy Road (look for orange roofs in the fields). Please remember that our camp is NOT accessible by public transportation and that you must either have access to a car for pre-camp or use our busing service at the designated stops.

With the exception of the pre-camp period, staff vehicles are not permitted on the campgrounds unless the Staff Transportation Protocol, signed by you together with your Agreement of Employment, specifically authorizes you to drive to camp each day. (Everyone should be familiar with the contents of their Agreement of Employment and particularly the Staff Transportation Protocol).
