For 50 years Green Acres has been providing outdoor country day camp experiences for children ages 2 1/2 to 15 years old.

The goal of our summer programs is to get children outdoors in a fun, safe, and spirited environment. We would like each camper to grow in knowledge, self-respect and self-esteem, skill development, leadership and co-operation.

Our camp community is a place for children to grow as individuals. We provide a setting where our campers can feel safe about accepting challenges and reaching beyond self imposed limits. With our directors and staff as role models, our campers take home experiences and memories that will last a lifetime.

Eddy Bogomolny is the Founding Director of Camp Green Acres. Since its inception in 1966, Eddy has been actively involved in the day-to-day operations of the camp. Not only does he spend ten months of the year preparing and planning for camp, but each day of the summer he is on the grounds with the kids, getting to know everyone personally and making sure everything runs smoothly.

Lori Bogomolny is the second generation to run Camp Green Acres. Building on her father’s traditions and lifelong involvement in camping, Lori is dedicated to building a new generation of Green Acres campers and families. She takes pride in building personal relationships and is committed to ensuring that every camper, parent, and staff is having the best possible camp experience.

Darren Greenspoon has been at Camp Green Acres now for over 20 years. He began as Swim Director before founding All-Star Sports Camp and MyCAMP All-Elective Camp. Darren is an instrumental part of all aspects of Green Acres. As a parent and teacher Darren is able to advise and relate to parents regarding any matter from swim, to busing, to allergies, and general safety and well-being at camp.

Kathy Fleming has been at Green Acres for over 10 years. As a mentor to staff and head staff she is known for her leadership, creative ideas, program planning, and enthusiasm. Kathy’s goal is to ensure that everyone has the most memorable summer and is therefore a great resource to both parents and staff.

Jon Shelson has been a part of the Green Acres team for 10 years. As a logistics specialist Jon is instrumental in the behind the scenes of camp. Jon is also the Director of our Leadership and Outdoor Education programs.

Sandy Griffiths has been an integral part of the Green Acres team for over 25 years. She is your direct contact when it comes to registration, enrollment, and making the right camp decisions for your children. During camp time Sandy is here to answer all of your questions and help with your concerns.

Amy Morrison joined our camp team in 2008 and became a part of the administrative team in 2013. Amy is here to answer any questions you may have about camp.

As a Leadership Team all of us work together on all aspects of camp to provide the quality of care and programming families have come to expect over the last fifty years.

Our Programs

Parents love the flexibility of being able to choose or mix-and-match between our amazing camp programs.

Our Facilities

Camp Green Acres is situated in Markham, conveniently located near the highway with over 110 acres in a beautiful country setting. The camp is equipped with indoor and outdoor facilities, two heated pools, and a heated junior waterslide park.

Our facilities also include soccer fields, basketball courts, baseball diamonds, biking and hiking trails, ropes course and climbing walls, 9 hole mini-golf course, tennis courts, recording studio, cooking café, farm animals, lots of tetherball and gaga ball courts, custom designed obstacle course, bon fire pit and indoor theatre. We also have many indoor activity spaces, shaded picnic areas, water fountains scattered throughout camp, an air conditioned health centre and flush toilets. In addition, Cedar Creek riding includes an 18 stall barn, an indoor riding arena and viewing room.

Each unit and area of camp has its own rec hall facility, change rooms, and shaded picnic table area.

Parent Communication

Timely parent communication is extremely important to us. Office staff and Directors are always available by phone and email.

During camp time you will be contacted by email and phone by both your head staff and your child’s counsellors. A complete list of contact emails can be found in our Parent Handbook which will be available in May.
