Green Acres collects information about your family to provide for the best and most appropriate care for your child.
We also use this information for yearly statistical analysis.
What Information We Collect
The personal information we collect shall be limited to that data which is necessary to assist us in providing for a safe and professionally run camp.
We use your child’s camper information to ensure that your child is in the appropriate group or program. We use your telephone numbers in order to contact you in cases of emergencies. We use your mailing address to pick up and drop off your child to and from camp. Health information requested is to ensure that the Camp Directors, Nurses and Counselors are aware of any medical or behavioural conditions, which may affect a camper’s participation in activities. We also collect information information about your child’s adjustment at camp.
Consent to Use Personal Information
We may obtain your express consent or we may determine that consent has been implied by the circumstances. Consent could be in writing such as: signed consent, e-mail or an application form, or verbally in person or over the telephone.
Providing us with your personal information is always your choice. When you inquire or enroll your child at Green Acres, we ask that you provide information that enables us to provide the best and most appropriate care for your child. In doing so, you consent to our collection, use and disclosure to appropriate third parties of such personal information for these purposes.
You also authorize us to use and retain this personal information for as long as it may be required for the purposes described. Your consent remains valid unless you provide us with written notice that such consent is withdrawn. By withdrawing your consent, or not providing it in the first place, you may limit or even prevent us from being able to provide you with our services now or in the future.
Sharing Personal Information with Others
We may need to disclose some personal information we collect to third parties and staff who are directly involved in providing service to your child: such as, by way of example, the bus driver of your child and the counselors of your child, or as required by law.
We are not in the business of selling camper lists or personal information to others.

It is important that your personal information is accurate and complete. Having accurate information about you enables us to give you the best possible service. You have the right to access, verify and amend the information we have about you. We rely on you to keep us informed of any changes, such as a change of address, telephone number, the health of your child or any other circumstances – simply contact our office and inform them of the changes.

At Green Acres, we employ physical, electronic and procedural safeguards to protect our systems and all personal information under our control against unauthorized access and use. All safety and security measures are appropriate to the sensitivity level of the information collected.
Employees and staff members are governed by strict standards and policies to ensure that personal information is secure and treated with the utmost care and respect.
Your Right to Access Your Personal Information
You have a right to access your personal information that we have in our possession. On written request to our Privacy Information Officer, a parent will be informed of the existence, use and disclosure of their personal information that is under our control, and may be given access to that personal information as required and permitted by law. Individuals are entitled to challenge the accuracy and completeness of that personal information and request that it be amended, if appropriate.
