Hot Lunch, Extended Care, Leisure Buddies, On-Site Tutoring, Labels!
Hot Lunch Program
Through Kids Kitchen, parents can easily order Hot Lunches and Snacks directly online. Weekly or daily options are available. Order as much or as little as you like. Entrees cost between $5.75 and $7.50, while snacks and drinks cost between $1.50 and $2.00. You can choose from a wide variety of hot and cold items including macaroni and cheese, chicken fingers and rice, pasta and so much more! Vegetarian, Kosher Style and gluten free options are available. Online orders must be entered by 10:00 a.m. the previous business day.
Extended Care
The camp day runs from approximately 9:15AM to 4:00PM. Parents who need extended care for their children can choose from the following options:
Early Morning Care – starting at 8:00AM – $50/week plus HST
After Camp Care – until 5:30PM – $60/week plus HST
Bussing is not available for extended care.
GREEN ACRES OPTIONAL ILLNESS INSURANCE
$15/WEEK PER CHILD
At the time of enrolment, parents may choose to sign up for the Green Acres Optional Illness Insurance which covers against the possibility that a camper may have an extended absence or need to withdraw from Camp as a result of illness or injury. Coverage provides for a proportional refund, after two consecutive days of camp are missed as a result of an illness or an injury only (proof of illness may be required).
If coverage is desired, just add the Green Acres Illness Insurance to your camp fees at registration – this cannot be added once your Application for Enrolment has been confirmed.
One-On-One Counsellors – “Leisure Buddies” (Limited Availability)
Our integrated program allows campers, completed nursery to Grade 7, who may be struggling in a group environment or with exceptionalities to remain part of a cabin group with the help of a Leisure Buddy. Under the supervision of the Camper Relations Team, the camper and their Leisure Buddy will follow the cabin schedule to the best of their abilities. Where changes need to be made in order for their experience to be more successful, the Camper Relations Team will work with the child and their leisure buddy to devise a tailored schedule. Parents can expect regular communication from the Leisure Buddy and the Camper Relations Team to have a better understanding of their child’s progress and experience at Green Acres.
A leisure buddy can be provided independently by the parent or hired by the camp for an additional $275/week if booked prior to May 1st, 2023 . Leisure buddy availability is limited and are only hired on an as-needed basis. We hand pick our Leisure Buddies based on their experience, maturity and dedication to children with exceptionalities. We then take great care in matching the leisure buddy to your child’s needs and personality. By reserving a leisure buddy in advance, we can ensure, to the best of our abilities, that the LB and your child are a great fit for each other! While we do our best, we cannot guarantee that a Leisure Buddy will be available once the camp season begins. If you have concerns about your child’s ability to succeed independently at camp, call the camp office we will put you in touch with one of our Camper Relations Team to discuss your child’s needs and make sure that a Leisure Buddy is hired if required.

Amy Sirota Woodruff has been teaching Grades 1-8 for over 20 years. She has a M.A. in Child Study and Education and is a Math Specialist.

Customized Name Labels
Green Acres offers custom stick-on labels that are durable and dishwasher/washing machine safe. The best way to ensure that misplaced items aren’t lost forever is to label every item brought to camp (clothes, goggles, water bottels, etc.) with first and last names. $18.00 + HST for a sheet of 52 labels.
